UMPQUA NATIONAL FOREST REDUCES DEVIL’S KNOB CLOSURE

September 28, 2024 10:20 a.m.

Effective Saturday, the Emergency Fire Forest Closure order for the Devil’s Knob Fire has been rescinded.

An Umpqua National Forest update said an administrative closure is now in effect for some roads in the Devil’s Knob footprint where firefighters are still working. Those roads will remain open to through traffic for residents, landowners, private industrial operators, and those with permits or permission from the UNF.

At times, identified roads may be temporarily closed even to landowners and those with permissions to pass through. Those instances will be identified by a physical road barricade and flaggers. Through traffic in these areas will be permitted once it is deemed safe by firefighting personnel. Up to a one-hour delay is possible.
