Glendale Schools are closed Thursday as the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office completes a full investigation of a possible threat made to the school via social media.
A release from Superintendent Bridget McMillen said the closure is due to safety and as a precaution in order to ensure that students are safe, and the district gets details to ensure that students and staff are safe.
McMillen said if students or parents in the district have information regarding the validity of the threat, they should call the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
All school activities including Thursday night’s volleyball game and open house are canceled. McMillen said school will resume in Glendale on Monday.
McMillen concluded by saying, “Thank you for your patience and understanding as this is being investigated – Student safety is a top priority in the district.”
