Fire season is still active throughout the Douglas District
Douglas Forest Protective Association Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said lands they protect are currently at a Moderate fire danger level, and under Moderate Public Use Restrictions with an IFPL at Level 2.
Pope said for the public, Moderate Public Use Restrictions means non-industrial power saw usage, cutting, grinding, or welding of metal, cutting, trimming or mowing dried, cured grass, and power-driven machinery for non-industrial improvement or development on private property is only allowed before 1:00 p.m. or after 8:00 p.m.
Pope said when fire season is active, all open fires, including campfires, warming fires and burning debris, including burning in barrels, are restricted.
