YONCALLA MAN HURT AS VEHICLE COLLIDES WITH TWO DEER

A Yoncalla man was hurt after a vehicle collided with two deer, Thursday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 6:20 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 5400 block of Rice Valley Road in the Oakland area. The 40-year-old driver said he was headed north on Rice Valley Road when the animals ran out in front of him. While traveling at approximately 45-miles per hour, his vehicle dipped to the right, hit a berm and rolled.

The man had a laceration to the right side of his head that would need stitches. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
