Adapt Integrated Health Care is joining communities nationwide this month in celebrating National Recovery Awareness Month.
An Adapt release said the observance honors the successes of individuals in recovery and raises awareness of local resources for those still seeking support. The goal is to reduce the stigma surrounding substance use disorders and promote education on the recovery journey.
Sam Denney, Director of Adapt’s Opioid Treatment Program said, “National Recovery Month is a powerful opportunity to celebrate recovery in all its forms”. Denney said, “It allows us to honor those who have achieved recovery and spotlight the resources available to those still battling addiction. For me, it’s an opportunity to celebrate the over 200 individuals in our clinic who’ve worked tirelessly to achieve recovery”.
Tom Sorrells, Chief of Substance Use Disorder Services at Adapt said, “Recovery is the goal for anyone struggling with substance use disorder. However it’s defined, recovery ultimately means saving lives”. Sorrels said, “While not everyone achieves recovery, substance use disorder is highly treatable and the chances for success rise when individuals seek professional help. I’m proud to witness the many successes here at Adapt”.
