One driver was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 8:00 p.m. the accident was reported near the intersection of Old Highway 99 North and Whitmore Lane in the Oakland area. Deputies and officers arrived on scene and contacted both drivers.

It was reported that the 16-year-old driver of the first vehicle, an Oakland juvenile, rear-ended the second vehicle with her large SUV as the second driver, a woman also from Oakland, was waiting to turn west onto Whitmore Lane. No signs of impairment were observed. The second driver complained of pain and was transported by ambulance to CHI Mercy Medical Center.

Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were able to be driven from the scene.
