September 15, 2024 11:00 a.m.

There has been only slight growth on the Homestead Complex fires over the past few days.

An Umpqua National Forest update said there are still approximately 74 miles of uncontained fire edge. Firefighters are accessing and extinguishing hot spots and continue finding and suppressing spot fires outside the main fires. Crews are also repairing roads damaged by the fires and by fire suppression activities to ensure continued access. The complex is listed at approximately 35,650 acres.

Fire updates:

*Horse Heaven Creek Fire: Crews will continue with mop up operations on lined spots just north of the north flank. Crews have recently found spot fires requiring additional work. Road clean up, chipping and log hauling is underway on the other flanks of the fire.

*Fuller Lake Fire: on Saturday, crews built additional fire lines to contain an area of persistent heat. The current plan is to continue mopping up, chipping, road clearing and locating additional control lines.

*No Man Fire: Crews are working near Chilcoot Mountain to suppress a persistent hot spot on the south flank. Crews are also patrolling, mopping up, chipping, hauling logs and conducting suppression repair operations.

*Bullpup Fire: Crews are busy with chipping and road clean up on the 200 Road that is serving as the primary control line.
