Wednesday afternoon, the Douglas Forest Protective Association decreased the Industrial Fire Precaution Levels to IFPL Level 2 on all lands protected by the DFPA, which includes lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said Public Use Restrictions decreased to Moderate on all private, county, state, and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands within the Douglas District, which imposes certain fire restrictions on the public to help prevent wildfires.
Pope said under IFPL Level 2, these activities may operate only between 8:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
*Power saws, except power saws, may operate at loading sites all day
*Feller-bunchers with rotary head saws
*Cable yarding
*Blasting
*Welding, cutting, or grinding of metal
For the public, Moderate Public Use Restrictions means:
Non-industrial power saw usage, cutting, grinding, or welding of metal, cutting, trimming, or mowing dried, cured grass, and power-driven machinery for non-industrial improvement or development on private land will only be allowed before 1:00 p.m. or after 8:00 p.m.
