In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
Bluegrass and Butterflies is happening this Friday and Saturday in Elkton.
Elktunes LLC and the Elkton Community Education Center are presenting the event.
The two-day outdoor music festival includes multiple bands, food trucks, products from local wineries and breweries, and vendors with eco-friendly, handmade and wellness items. The event theme is “Music is Medicine”.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit ECEC’s new wellness initiative to reduce high levels of chronic illness in this Medically Underserved Area through nutrition and lifestyle classes, support groups, public benefit application assistance, telehealth access and preventative health services.
Workshops and jam sessions will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. near the fort on the ECEC campus. Booths are open each day from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Tickets are $55 for Friday, $65 for Saturday or $110 for admission on both days. Children ages 12 years and younger get in for free. Parking is $5. Camping is available as well.
