ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL CALIFORNIA WOMAN FOR CRIMINAL MISTREATMENT

Roseburg Police jailed a California woman Sunday in a criminal mistreatment case.

An RPD report said the victim was a patient at Rose Haven Nursing Center and had two debit cards stolen from her wallet. The suspect allegedly spent almost $5,000 at various stores in the Roseburg area. During the the investigation, the victim’s nurse, 37-year-old Jamie Ortega was identified as the suspect and was taken into custody just after 9:30 a.m. She was charged with five counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and four counts of computer crime. Ortega was detained without bail.
