OREGON STATE POLICE JAIL MAN AFTER DEER SHOT FROM ROADWAY

Oregon State Police jailed a man for a wildlife incident on Thursday night.

An OSP report said just before 10:30 p.m. a trooper responded to the 100 block of West Sixth Avenue in Sutherlin after a caller said a buck deer had been shot from the roadway. Sutherlin Police Department was already on the scene. The buck had been shot in the front yard of a house with a 9mm. There was one 9mm brass found in the roadway.  A picture of the suspect vehicle was provided by a witness.

Later SPD stopped the suspect vehicle and located a 9mm casing in the passenger seat. The passenger didn’t want to talk. The driver claimed that nothing happened but when asked where he had been at the time of the incident, he described being in that area.

SPD lodged the passenger, a 17-year-old male on a warrant. OSP issued him citations for unlawful use of a weapon, reckless endangering and take buck deer.  OSD detained the driver, 20-year-old Aiden Marsh on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, reckless endangering and for aiding in a wildlife offense. Marsh was detained without bail. The buck was salvaged.
