DFPA CHANGE TO LEVEL 3 EFFECTIVE WEDNESDAY

September 4, 2024 3:30 a.m.

Effective Wednesday, the Douglas Forest Protective Association changed the Industrial Fire Precaution Levels to LEVEL 3 for all private, county, state and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands within the Douglas District.

Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said the Roseburg District of the Bureau of Land Management is included in the fire season declaration which imposes certain fire restrictions on industrial operators to help prevent wildfires and has specific Fire Prevention Orders or other restrictions on the BLM-administered lands.

Pope said high temperatures are expected to impact the Umpqua Valley for several days, increasing fire danger. The potential for emerging significant wildfires is high and expected to remain high in numerous areas around the state.

IFPL levels within the Douglas District changed to IFPL LEVEL 3 in regulated use areas and all forestland within one-eighth mile thereof.

The Public Use Restriction Level remains at HIGH.
