The Umpqua Valley will have two more days of near record high temperatures, Friday and Saturday.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the mercury should reach 98 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport on Friday. That would be just a degree shy of the record for August 30th, which was 99 degrees set in 2022. Saturday is forecast to reach 96 degrees, 4 degrees below the record of 100 degrees set on August 31st in 1998.
Sunday through Tuesday is slated to see highs back in the 80s, before ramping up to the 90’s beginning on Wednesday.
The high at the airport Thursday was 97 degrees, 4 degrees below the record for August 29th, which was 101 degrees, reached in 1944.
