SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL MAN FOLLOWING USE OF FORCE INCIDENT

Sutherlin Police jailed a man following a use of force incident on Thursday.

An SPD report said at approximately 10:30 a.m. 50-year-old Jason Nightingale showed up at a residence in the 2200 block of Eagle Loop to send a message to two victims to get them out of town. Nightingale reportedly destroyed their vinyl double gate while trespassing on their property and screaming for the victims to exit the house and face him.

An officer located Nightingale later, who resisted him, resulting in a use of force incident. Nightingale was treated at CHI Mercy Medical Center for his injuries and then was placed into custody. He was charged with first-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest and second-degree counts of escape, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, and for attempting to commit a Class C Felony. Nightingale was detained on $6,250 bail.
