One passenger was taken to the hospital after a single vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon. A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 2:10 p.m. a 17-year-old Roseburg driver navigated from the pavement onto gravel in a curve and lost control, hitting the ditch in the 2500 block of Birds Point Lane in Idleyld Park. His sedan rolled onto its top.

An 18-year-old passenger, also from Roseburg, was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center after complaining of back and head pain. He also had lost consciousness and couldn’t remember the crash. Another passenger, an 18-year-old from Winston, was complaining of head pain and was checked by medics but refused transport. The driver said he was traveling at approximately 45 miles-per-hour when the accident happened.

The sedan was towed from the scene.
