ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOLLOWING OVERNIGHT DISTURBANCE

Roseburg Police jailed a man following an overnight disturbance early Thursday.

An RPD report said at 3:30 a.m. a female victim claimed that 46-year-old Bruce Maddux had strangled her during a disturbance before fleeing from their residence in the 2000 block of Northeast Stephens Street. Officers intercepted Maddux as he returned home and found him to be driving under the influence of an intoxicant.

He was charged with fourth-degree felony assault, strangulation and DUII. Madux was detained without bail.
