Unseasonably hot weather is expected later this week in southern Oregon, pushing the mercury to the triple digits in some locations.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said Thursday through Saturday will bring highs in the mid-90s to the Roseburg area. Medford and Grants Pass could have high temperatures of 100 degrees for the three-day period. Highs will cool by several degrees on Sunday, before dropping to the 80s starting on Labor Day.
The hot weather could mean an increase to fire danger in the region, just ahead of a holiday weekend, when many spend time outdoors.
