A Drain man was charged with 4th degree assault following a disturbance late Wednesday night.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at approximately 10:45 p.m. dispatchers received a call stating that a woman was at a business in the 300 block of West B Avenue in Drain. She was reported to be bleeding and said that she had been beaten by an 85-year-old.
Deputies arrived on the scene and the victim reported that she had been punched and pushed by the suspect. The victim had about an inch long laceration above her left eye and appeared confused. After speaking with the victim, deputies contacted the suspect at his residence in the 100 block of West D Avenue and discovered blood throughout the home and on the clothing the man was wearing. The suspect had an injury to his left index finger which he could not explain. He was unable to articulate how the victim was injured. The man was taken into custody and detained without bail.
