Wetting rain and cooler temperatures are expected for the region starting Thursday.
Information from the National Weather Service said strong low pressure will bring another round of mostly beneficial precipitation to the region through Friday. Thunderstorms are possible but no severe storms are expected. Unseasonably cool afternoon high temperatures are forecast for both days. Forecasters said these will be more typical for late October than late August.
There is an 80 percent chance of at least a tenth of an inch of rain in Roseburg between early Thursday morning and early Friday morning. A 50 percent chance of a half inch of rain is forecast.
Cooler weather will linger on Saturday. By Sunday, highs are back into the 80s with dry conditions. Late next week, afternoon highs will be near 90 degrees for several days, with the potential to be above 90 degrees for at least a couple of those days.
