A pickup eluded a deputy in the Glendale area Tuesday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 1:15 p.m. a deputy observed the driver of a pickup commit a traffic violation near the intersection of Glendale Valley Road and Tunnel Road. The deputy attempted to catch up with the vehicle and it took off at a high rate of speed onto Tunnel Road. The deputy caught up to the vehicle on the gravel and initiated a pursuit.

The pickup took off and the deputy had to slack considerably, eventually terminating the chase, due to conditions. The pickup was not located. The driver was a white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing around 180 pounds, with light brown shaggy hair.
