DIAMOND COMPLEX AT 10,986 ACRES, 21 OF 29 FIRES NOW CONTAINED

The Diamond Complex, burning in the Umpqua National Forest, is at 10,986 acres as of midday Tuesday.

A UNF update said there are now 29 lightning caused fires with 21 of them now 100 percent contained. The latest fire known as Twin Knobs is currently .37 acre with zero percent containment.

The largest fires:

*Middle Fork Fire: 5,222 acres and zero percent contained.

*Pine Bench Fire: 3,925 acres and 30 percent contained

*Potter Fire: 3,320 acres and 6 percent contained

*Trep Fire: 544 acres and zero percent contained

Precipitation, cooler temperatures and higher humidity have minimized fire behavior. Minimal fire spread, backing, creeping and smoldering has been observed.
