STATE POLICE JAIL WOMAN CHARGED WITH 4TH DEGREE ASSAULT

Oregon State Police jailed a woman on the charge of 4th degree felony assault on Sunday.

An OSP report said at 11:40 a.m. witnesses reported someone kicking another person in the rear seat of a vehicle along the right shoulder of Interstate 5 northbound at Rice Hill. When a trooper arrived on the scene, the subjects, both female, were still arguing and agitated. During the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect, a 20-year-old, had kicked the victim after an argument. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office had previously contacted both individuals in Canyonville after a fist fight was reported at a business.

The suspect was jailed on the charge as the victim had a visible minor injury on her arm. Bail was set at $2,500.
