SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH THROUGH 9:00 P.M. SATURDAY

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for much of southern Oregon through 9:00 p.m. Saturday.

Forecasters said a strong thunderstorm will impact portions of south-central Douglas, northwest Jackson and northeastern Josephine counties

Just after 1:30 p.m. Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Interstate 5 at Canyon Creek Pass, or 21 miles north of Grants Pass, moving north at 40 miles per hour.

Winds up to 40 miles per hour and half inch hail are possible.

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to unsecured outdoor objects is possible.
