The City of Sutherlin has announced the grand opening of Ford’s Pond Community Park on September 6th, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

A city release said the one-of-a-kind, 202-acre park has a completely paved 1.7-mile path that encircles Ford’s Pond. Interpretive panels highlight what is seen as recreationists walk through this nature reserve.

The brand new, all-inclusive playground welcomes children of all ages to play, explore and enjoy the area. It is fully equipped with natural features, covered pavilions, picnic tables, benches, restroom facilities and a concrete table tennis table.

The release said the city would like to thank all the volunteers, staff, funding agencies, vendors, contractors and community members who have made this project possible.
