The Umpqua National Forest has rescinded the Emergency Fire Closure Order for the Rocky Ridge Fire, effective Thursday.
A UNF release said the closure which began on July 23rd, impacted the Tiller Ranger District and was put in place for public and firefighter safety. The order closed Castle Creek, Skimmerhorn, Fish Lake, Beaver Swamp, and Acker Divide trailheads, which are now all open to the recreating public.
While the Rocky Ridge Fire Closure has been rescinded, there are still two closures impacting the Umpqua National Forest. The Dixon Emergency Fire Closure Order and Diamond Complex Emergency Fire Closure Order continue to impact many recreation sites across the forest. These two closures impact all the Cottage Grove Ranger District, most of the Diamond Lake Ranger District, and parts of the Tiller and North Umpqua Ranger Districts.
Fire danger is set at Very High and Public Use Restrictions Level 3 are in effect. Campfires are restricted to commercial campfires solely pressurized by liquid fuel or propane, within Forest Service developed recreation sites.
