DCSO RESPONSE TO DIXON FIRE

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and other county officials and staff continue their response to the Dixon Fire.

Evacuations remain in place on the fire. An interactive map reflecting evacuation levels is available at: www.dcso.com/evacuations.

A community meeting for residents and landowners impacted by the Dixon Fire will be held Wednesday night at 7:00 pm. at the South Umpqua Community Church on Tiller Trail Highway.

There was one home destroyed in the fire on Saturday during the initial phase of the incident. It is believed the residence was unoccupied at the time. Evaluation of additional structure loss is ongoing. The Douglas County Assessor’s Office and Commissioner Tim Freeman will be engaging with the incident management team when the threat has lessened.

The American Red Cross shelter is now at the Days Creek Charter School on Tiller Trail Highway in Days Creek.
