The Diamond Complex, burning on the Umpqua National Forest, has grown to 8,129 acres with 728 people assigned as of midday Saturday.
A UNF update said the Middle Fork Fire in the northwest corner of Crater Lake National Park has 28 people assigned, but the Diamond Complex is sharing resources as needed. The park remains open.
The largest fires include:
*Pine Bench Fire: 2,165 acres with 15 percent contained
*Potter Fire: 2,060 acres with zero percent contained
*Lemolo Fire: 1,247 acres with 20 percent contained
*Trail Fire: 843 acres with 40 percent contained
*Trep Fire: 374 acres with zero percent contained
Moderate conditions are expected with minimum relative humidity levels rising into the low 30’s. Sunny weather is forecast, rising into the low to mid-80s. Fire surface spread will be most likely, and perimeter growth will mainly be from the heavy fuels. The burned period for the day will likely be shortened due to the higher relative humidity levels during the day and into the evening.
