SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED BURGLARY/ASSAULT INCIDENT

 

Sutherlin Police jailed a man following an alleged burglary and assault incident early Friday.

An SPD report at approximately 2:15 a.m. 21-year-old Derek Moss alleged entered a home in the 700 block of Northwest Tanglewood Drive. Moss reportedly assaulted a victim, causing enough injury that the victim had to be transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. Moss was later arrested after K9 Eros arrived to help search the house. The suspect suffered two bites and was transported to Mercy for medical attention, before being taken to jail.

Moss was charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and menacing. He was detained without bail.
