DIAMOND COMPLEX HOLDS AT 7,629 ACRES, 728 PEOPLE ASSIGNED

The Diamond Complex, burning on the Umpqua National Forest, is holding at approximately 7,629 acres, with 728 people assigned as of mid-day Friday.

A UNF update said the Middle Fork Fire, in the northwest corner of Crater Lake National Park has 31 people assigned. The Diamond Complex is sharing resources as needed. Crater Lake National Park remains open.

The largest fires include:

*Pine Bench Fire: 2,160 acres with 15 percent contained

*Potter Fire: 2,060 acres with zero percent contained

*Lemolo Fire; 1,247 acres with 20 percent contained

*Trail Fire: 843 acres with 40 percent contained

*Trep Fire: 374 acres with zero percent contained

Mllder conditions are expected through the weekend and next week, including lower temperatures and higher humidity. The smoke also continues to keep temperatures cooler and humidity higher. The fires are primarily fuel and terrain-driven rather than wind driven. The next few days should see moderated fire behavior.
