The Diamond Complex, burning in the Umpqua National Forest, has grown by 1,000 acres to 7,629 acres as of mid-day Thursday.

A UNF update said 702 people are assigned to the fire. The Middle Fork Fire, in the northwest corner of Crater Lake National Park has 28 people assigned, but the Diamond Complex is sharing resources as needed. The park remains open.

The larger fires include:

*Pine Bench Fire: 2,160 acres with 15 percent contained

*Potter Fire: 2,000 acres with zero percent contained

*Lemolo Fire: 1,247 acres with 20 percent contained

*Trail Fire: 843 acres with 40 percent contained

*Trep Fire: 374 acres with zero percent contained

Fire behavior analysts expect an uptick in fire activity. By Friday and into the weekend, humidity should increase, and temperatures will cool off, reducing fire behavior again.
