YONCALLA WOMAN JAILED FOR BURNING DOWN HOUSE IN YONCALLA

A Yoncalla woman was jailed for burning down a house on July 28th.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said on that date deputies responded to the home in the 1000 block of Wooley Court for a structure fire.

Initially no one could locate the homeowner. A deputy was able to contact the man who confirmed that he was okay. The victim claimed that 33-year-old Devon Sisk had lit his house on fire. The deputy collected numerous interviews while the fire marshal’s office conducted their investigation. They determined the fire was started intentionally.

On Monday, Sisk was contacted. After a lengthy interview, she confessed to intentionally burning the residence. Sisk stated that she utilized a lighter torch and set a recliner chair on fire. The deputy seized the torch and placed the woman in custody.

Sisk was charged with first-degree arson, reckless burning, reckless endangering and for a warrant. She was detained on $40,000 bail.
