Two people were taken to the hospital following a head on crash Tuesday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said the accident took place at 4:20 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 99 South and Dole Road. A 40-year-old was driving a van heading south behind a truck pulling a camp trailer. He made a left turn onto Dole Road and did not see a sedan. Both vehicles received serious damage, disabling them in the roadway. The driver and a passenger in the second vehicle, women ages 68 and 42, were both transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for suspected minor injuries.

The man who caused the accident was cited for making a dangerous left turn. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
