An Oregon City man died in a side-by-side versus ATV accident on Saturday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report released Tuesday said just before 12:15 p.m. dispatchers were advised of a crash on the sand in the South Boundary area at Winchester Bay.

The operator of the side-by-side said she was side hilling a dune and when she came down on her third loop, her vehicle collided with an ATV.  The ATV was operated by 43-year-old Michell Medina. Medina was in and out of consciousness when medical crews arrived. They began life saving measures and transported him to Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport. Once at the hospital, Medina succumbed to his injuries. His next of kin was notified.
