OSU EXTENSION PRESENTS TREE SCHOOL UMPQUA

Oregon State University Extension Service of Douglas County will offer a day of classes centered on forestry and natural resource topics on Saturday, September 28th from 8:40 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

An extension release said the event will be held at Umpqua Community College in the Health, Nursing, and Science Center.

Tree School Umpqua features 24 classes on a wide variety of topics of interest to family forestland owners, professionals in forestry and natural resources, loggers, arborists, teachers and the general public. Many classes qualify for continuing education credits from related professional organizations.

Class topics include forest insects and diseases, forest pollinators, managing forests in a changing climate, fire, forest management planning, forest taxes, selling lots and much more.

All participants must register in advance. Registration is $70 per person if completed by August 31st and $90 per person if completed between September 1st and 13th.
