With the health and safety of its county staff, partners and community members in mind, leadership at the Roseburg office of the Oregon Department of Human Services is canceling the First Thursday community resource event planned for this Thursday due to unsafe smoke conditions and heat advisories.

The event is normally held on the first Thursday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the ODHS parking lot on West Harvard Avenue.

A release said ODHS apologizes for the late notice and the impact it may have but believes the health and safety of the community is of utmost importance to the agency.

First Thursday will resume on Thursday September 5th.
