DEPUTIES JAIL TRANSIENTS IN STOLEN VEHICLE CASE

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a pair of transients in a stolen vehicle case on Tuesday night.

A DCSO report said at 7:10 p.m. a deputy located a minivan near the intersection of Brockway Road and Lookingglass Road in Winston and knew it to be stolen. A felony stop was conducted, and 49-year-old Kimberly Stone and 56-year-old Mark Hayter were contacted as the occupants. After interviews, Stone and Hayter were taken into custody and detained without bail.

The minivan was returned to the victim.
