A report from the Oregon Department of Forestry said over 950,000 acres has burned in the state, so far in 2024.

More than 155,000 acres of the fires have been on ODF protected land. There have been 762 fires in the state this year with 38 active large fires currently burning. Nearly 6,800 personnel are assigned to the fires. That number does not include local and agency government employees, landowners, forestland operators and community members who are contributing every day.

The ODF report said the Regional Preparedness Level and the ODF Activity Level are both rated at 5 – the top number – showing the intensity of the state’s fire situation.
