DIAMOND COMPLEX AT 4,146 ACRES WITH 23 FIRES

The Diamond Complex, burning on the Diamond Lake Ranger District of the Umpqua National Forest is comprised of 23 fires totaling 4,146 acres as of mid-day Thursday.

A UNF update said the complex remains 3 percent contained, with 378 people currently assigned to the complex.

The largest fires are:

*Pine Bench: 1,546 acres and zero percent contained. It is north of Highway 138 near Dry Creek.

*Trail: 830 acres and 5 percent contained. It is east of Highway 138 on the west slope of Mt. Thielsen.

*Lemolo: 627 acres and zero percent contained. It is north of Lemolo Lake on Bunker Hill.

*Potter: 504 acres and zero percent contained. It is north of Highway 138, about 2 miles southeast of Potter Mountain.

*Watson: 166 acres and zero percent contained. It is north of Highway 138 on Watson Ridge.

All other fires in the complex are 109 acres or less.

Fires will continue direct suppression on accessible fires and will develop specific suppression strategies for other less accessible fires to be carried out as resources become available.
