A teen from Umpqua died in an SUV versus motorcycle accident Wednesday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report released Saturday said at 2:15 p.m. the SUV driver was headed west on Garden Valley Road when she made a left-hand turn into River Forks Market, near the intersection with Curry Road. The vehicle made the turn in front of the motorcyclist, who was driving east on a street bike at a high rate of speed.

The motorcyclist, 18-year-old Brody Turner of Umpqua, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The motorist, 71-year-old Jo Carol Driver of Roseburg, was cooperative with the investigation. River Forks Market provided video of the crash to DCSO.
