As of late Friday, there are 27 confirmed fires on the Umpqua National Forest.
A UNF release said 7 of the fires are 100 percent contained. The region is dealing with a shortage of resources, and these new fires are being staffed based on the values that are at risk. Wildfire smoke has had a significant impact on aviation resources.
Current fire information:
*The Trail Fire just east of Diamond Lake is estimated at 2,000 acres. Multiple crews and engines are assigned to this incident. Air resources have been ordered but are unable to fly due to smoke. *Pig Iron Fire is estimated at 4 acres. Fire hose has been laid from the end of the fire down the west side. One engine, one crew, and one individual resource are on the fire scene.
*Lemolo Fire is estimated at 250 acres. Air resources ordered but unable to fly due to smoke. Evacuations for the fire can be found on the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
*Shadow Fire is estimated at 8 acres. Douglas Forest Protective Association and UNF resources are on site.
*Adams Mountain Fire is estimated at 20 acres.
*Horse Heaven Creek Fire is estimated at 50 acres. 3 engines, one crew and two individual resources are on the scene. Handline has been laid around 20 percent of the fire.
*Lost Bucket Fire is estimated at 2 acres. DFPA and UNF resources are on site.
*Watson Fire is estimated at 10 acres.
*Clearwater Fire is estimated at 0.10 acre. It is 100 percent lined.
*Slide Fire is estimated at .5 acre. It is 100 percent lined.
*Trep Fire is estimated at 20 acres.
*Quartz Canyon Fire is estimated at less than 1 acre.
*Reynolds Butte Fire is estimated at 10 acres. There is about 1,000 feet of hose lay. Four engines are on site.
*Mineral Fire is estimated at 10 to 20 acres.
*Garwood Fire is estimated at 2 acres. It is 50 percent lined. One crew, one engine, one type one helicopter is on site.
*Brodie Fire is estimated at 28 acres.
*Steelhead Fire is estimated at 40 acres.
*Pine Bench Fire is estimated at 800 acres. Two engines are on site. Air resources ordered but are unable to fly due to smoke. Evacuation information related to the fire, which is in the Soda Springs area, can be found at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
Fires that are 100 percent contained: Bald Ridge Fire, Spring Fire, White Creek Fire, Puddin Fire, Tucker Fire, Donegan Fire and Cultus Fire.
