ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN AFTER ALLEGED ASSAULT INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed a man after an alleged assault incident Saturday night.

An RPD report said at 8:00 p.m. the 43-year-old was allegedly trespassing at a business in the 500 block of Northeast Winchester Street and refused to leave. The suspect reportedly threw a gallon of water at an employee as he was being chased off the property, which caused an injury to the victim’s eye and face.

The suspect was located nearby at the homeless camps near the bike jumps where he was detained. The man was charged with fourth-degree assault and two-degree criminal trespass. Bail was set at $7,500.
