A juvenile was hospitalized after a two-vehicle accident on Sunday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 10:50 a.m. a juvenile driver was traveling north on Del Rio Road and was preparing to turn into Hestness Landing. A second juvenile was in the bed of the vehicle, holding down their rafts. An elderly driver was behind the first vehicle and did not see it until the last second. His vehicle struck the juvenile’s pickup which caused it to spin and roll down into the parking lot.

The second juvenile was ejected and landed on the grass on the west side of the road. He was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center with minor injuries and road rash. The driver who caused the wreck was cited for following too closely. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
