Roseburg had its fifth record high for the date in a row on Tuesday, reaching 106 degrees.
The record for July 9th had been 98 degrees, set in 2010.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that they haven’t been able to determine if five record high temperatures in a row is a record itself, based on how data is gathered.
Roseburg set record highs for the date every day from last Friday through Tuesday. The hot streak included the five hottest days of 2024. The mercury reached 108 degrees on Monday, 107 degrees on Saturday, 106 degrees on Sunday and again on Tuesday, and 104 degrees on Friday
The Umpqua Valley is forecast to drop to the mid 90’s Wednesday and stay in the low to mid 90s for the next week.
