The Friendly Kitchen/Meals on Wheels was recently awarded $15,000 from the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation in its spring round of giving.

Volunteer Coordinator Casey Buller said the Friendly Kitchen/Meals on Wheels is a non-profit agency that has been providing USDA certified and professional nutritionist approved meals since 1973. Buller said homebound seniors aged 60 or older that live within the Roseburg city limits qualify for meal service.

The Friendly Kitchen delivers 5,000 meals each month to over 200 at risk seniors. Buller said with the continued support of the community, including organizations like CCUIF, the Friendly Kitchen and their volunteers will continue to deliver meals to at risk seniors for another fifty years.
