A release said these regulations impact 1.8 million acres of state, private, county, and Bureau of Land Management lands protected by ODF’s Southwest Oregon District. The Industrial Fire Precaution Level will remain at 2.

These activities are now prohibited for the public:

*The use of power saws, excluding electric chainsaws

*The cutting, grinding and welding of metal

*The mowing of dry or dead grass

*The operation of any other spark-emitting internal combustion engine not specifically mentioned earlier.

A number of other prevention regulations are currently in effect and will remain in place until the fire danger level drops significantly. Complete information about all regulations in the Southwest Oregon District are at: www.swofire.com
