IDAHO MAN DIES IN MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 101

An Idaho man died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday.

An Oregon State Police report said just after 1:30 p.m. troopers responded to the crash on Highway 101 near milepost 207 in the Gardiner area. The preliminary investigation indicated that a northbound motorcycle, operated by 43-year-old Johnny Boles of Notus, attempted to pass in between two northbound vehicles that were occupying both the A and B lanes of travel. Boles lost control of the motorcycle which left the roadway. He was ejected into a guardrail.

Boles was declared deceased at the scene.

The highway was not impacted during the on-scene investigation. The cause of the crash is believed to be unsafe passing.
