In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

The Riverbend Live! summer concert series features blues and roots music Friday night at Winston’s Riverbend Park.

Award winning singer and harmonica player Chris O’Leary has been playing professionally since the 90’s and is described as a “monster road warrior”, playing hundreds of shows a year all over the world.

Attendees are welcome to come early with a blanket or chair, and enjoy dinner from home, or a meal from one of the food and drink vendors. Wine or beer is allowed but organizers urge concert goers to bring or buy water, so they stay hydrated in the summer heat.

Buckets are passed at intermission to help pay for the concerts, which are largely funded by local businesses and individuals, along with foundations. Entertainment continues Friday nights through August 2nd.
