OSU EXTENSION FOOD SAFETY AND PRESERVATION HOTLINE TO OPEN

As canning season gets underway, the Food Safety and Preservation hotline from the Oregon State University Extension Service will start taking calls on Monday.

An extension release said the toll-free hotline is 800-354-7319. It is open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. until October 11th. During hours when the hotline is closed, callers can leave a message. The hotline is staffed by certified Master Food Preserver volunteers in several Oregon counties. Volunteers fielded over 800 calls in 2023.
