ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL WOMAN AFTER DUII CRASH

Roseburg Police jailed a woman after a DUII crash on Monday.

An RPD report said at 12:00 p.m. officers responded to a crash on the Washington Street Bridge in the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue. A sedan rear-ended an SUV, which struck a second SUV. The 58-year-old driver who caused the accident was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. Officers contacted the woman at the hospital. The woman said she fell asleep while driving because had just taken Methadone and it usually makes her drowsy.

The driver was released from Mercy and placed into handcuffs. She was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants. Bail was set at $10,000. She was cited for reckless driving, following too closely and failure to renew. The woman was released later in the day.
