A driver was taken to the hospital following a single vehicle wreck on Sunday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 1:40 p.m. an 86-year-old man was driving eastbound on Old Melrose Road heading towards Roseburg when his pickup left the right side of the roadway and went into the ditch. The ditch is deep in that area and the vehicle traveled about one hundred feet before striking a driveway culvert.

The man was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center by ambulance for minor injuries. He is listed in fair condition at last check, according to a hospital spokesperson. His vehicle was towed from the scene. The driver said he had no idea what happened to cause the accident.
